Chris is a fully qualified Carpenter and Joiner, what’s the difference you may wonder. In basic terms, a Joiner is a manufacturer who works in a lovely warm well equipped Workshop making Kitchen Cabinets, Doors, Staircases, Windows etc. A Carpenter is an installer, he can fit everything that a Joiner makes and can also build roofs outside with the rain and hail pounding down on him. Chris likes to be warm so specialising in Kitchens from the early 80s was a good choice for him.
Over the years he built a fine reputation here in Cumbria, but the recession in the late 80s forced him to relocate to Lincolnshire. After starting from scratch again he opened his first Showroom in Scunthorpe. A few years later he moved to better premises and became the areas largest independent Kitchen Retailer. This proved to be very successful and is still doing well with its new owners.
Chris had a strong desire to return back to the Lake District so after 25 years of nagging, his beautiful Wife Heather agreed. Chris sold the business, “Chris Strange Kitchens” as a going concern and started trading as “Quality Kitchens” in 2021.
